Doug currently works at NetApp, where he is a senior manager within their Customer Support organization, focusing on solutions readiness. In this particular role, Doug is responsible for ensuring that not only the solutions (primarily multi-product/multi-vendor in nature) themselves are ready for release but also for making sure that the support model/processes selected for those solutions are ready as well.
Prior to NetApp, Doug worked at Cisco where he, over a 14 year span, worked almost exclusively in the large scale systems/solutions space. Starting as a solutions program manager then moving into various management roles, Doug has led program management teams, systems documentation teams, a number of system test teams, software automation teams, customer facing test teams, and groups responsible for internal and external field trials. Just prior to his departure from Cisco Doug was a member Cisco’s Enterprise Architecture and Systems team…responsible for the delivery of multi-product/multi-vendor solutions in the virtual desktop, desktops-as-a-service, and remote expert spaces.
With a degree in Computer Science (Florida Atlantic University) and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of business, Doug brings an interesting mix of engineering knowledge and business acumen to the table….along with a considerable experience base to draw from.
An avid runner (including numerous full and multiple half marathons) and a budding cyclist, when not at work, Doug can often be found somewhere out on the roads and trails of western Cary, where he and Judy (his wife of 28 years) reside.
Doug is also active with a number of different charities, including fundraising for Boston Children’s Hospital (as a member of their ‘Miles for Miracles’ team),Smile Train, USO, and the American Red Cross.
