TSANet Creates a Security Committee for ISO 27001 Certification

One of the advantages of a Member driven industry organization is the ability to involve members in projects that require specific skill sets.   In early 2021 TSANet created a Security Committee to provide leadership in the data security area.  The TSANet Connect platform is in the process of obtaining ISO 27001 certification and the security committee will be part of that initiative.

ISO 27001 and the Security Committee

The goal of ISO 27001 is to provide a framework of standards for how a modern organization should manage their information and data.   Considered the gold standard for information technology security this certification will provide our members confidence in how TSANet protects their data.

As part of ISO 27001 certification, the Security Committee reviews our risks, understands the security processes and provides a stamp of approval on overall TSANet data security. The committee meets at least once per quarter and includes existing Board of Directors.

Security Committee Members

Current Security Committee members were selected from the existing Board of Directors and are John Gunther (HPE, Committee Chairperson), Jim West (Citrix), Scott Froehlich (Red Hat) and Tamra King (Microsoft).

As a Member driven organization TSANet provides ways for Members to be involved in the future direction.   Below are some upcoming opportunities to get involved.

  • Regional Focus Groups: The regional focus groups provide a way for you to network with other Members and provide feedback to TSANet.
  • TSANet Connect Technology Committee: TSANet will be working on the next version of TSANet Connect and will be creating a Technology Committee to gather Member feedback

As a member, if you have any questions or would like to get involved, please email membership@tsanet.org
